I can't hear the music. What's wrong?
Necessary Items for listening:
  1. If you get a security warning at the top of any page on our site stating that Scripts and ActiveX Controls are being blocked... You MUST click the warning and choose "Allow Blocked Content" to listen... All Content on xenaRadio is certified safe. xenaRadio is rated Green (Safe) by McAfee SiteAdvisor
    Glossary: What is Script Blocking?

  2. You MUST have an ActiveX and JavaScript enabled browser (see your security settings in browser preferences).
Internet Explorer 4.0 (and later) and Netscape 7.1 (and later) with Active X all work.
Internet Explorer is the recommended browser.
Netscape 8 (or later) Users may require setup
Mozilla FireFox may require Media Wrap activeX component

  3. Windows Media Player 7 or later MUST be installed to listen to our content.
Download at (Includes MAC and other systems):
    Windows Media Player Downloads

  4. You MUST have have a computer with a sound card. If your sound card is not 24-bit 96khz capable the stream will be automatically converted to lower audio quality.

  5. The sound MUST be enabled, not muted, and the volume elevated high enough to hear. Note that you may have 2 volume controls... one on the player and a main volume control on your computer.

  6. For "Hi" 24-bit 96khz audio... an internet connection capable of receiving at least 200kbs is recommended. A slower connection can listen but buffer times may be substantial before audio starts playing. "Lo" dialup audio streams should produce minimal buffering (see performance issues below).
Top of PagePerformance Issues
Performance issues:
The sound is erratic.
Ultra-Enhanced 24-bit DVD quality audio need a high speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, or faster) to limit buffering before play starts.
  1. Make sure you have a new updated version of Windows Media Player. Open the player on desktop. Open "Preferences". Click the "Connection" tab then check to see that your player preferences for "Performance" is set to "Automatically Detect Connection Speed" or to a download speed equal to or less than your internet connection speed.

  2. Excessive buffering indicates you are not receiving the data fast enough. Probable causes are you have something else downloading in addition to our stream, your internet connection is too slow, our server is busy, or internet is busy.

  3. Close unneeded programs running in the background on your computer to free up resources. Streaming audio buffers to memory limits... if you don't have enough available memory the audio will stop and buffer. Expert users will know how to allocate more memory.

  4. Update your browser to the latest version

  5. If all this fails you probably need to find a faster internet service provider, add more memory, or update your computer.
Top of PageMisc
Why is the volume too low even when I set the player volume control to max? You have 2 volume controls... one in the player and a main volume control on your computer or keyboard. Try raising the main volume control. For Windows users the main volume control can be found on your task bar, keyboard, or in Control Panel/ Sounds and Audio Devices/Volume. You can put the volume control on your task bar by putting a check mark in the box beside "Place volume icon in the taskbar" and then clicking "Apply".
I have a high speed internet connection but the "Hi" audio quality doesn't sound much better then the "Lo" Your sound card may not be able to play 96khz 24-bit audio. Windows media player converts the "Hi" stream to the highest quality your sound card can play.

Update your sound card to a 24-bit 96khz (or better) capable card to hear the best audio stream. Don't forget to use quality speakers.

I get a Browser Warning that active content is being blocked. This site uses scripts to implement playlists. Please click the warning and allow blocked content. All content on xenaRadio.com is safe.
